Import from 1Password to AzAd Vault

Export from 1Password and import on Android or Windows.

How-to as of September 2026. 1Password export formats and menus change — follow 1Password’s current export documentation.

Before you start

Export from 1Password on a device you trust, then import into AzAd Vault on Android (v1.0.36) or Windows (v1.0.43). Treat any CSV or unencrypted export as highly sensitive. AzAd Solutions never receives your export — import happens on your device into a zero-knowledge vault.

Steps

  1. Export from 1Password. Use 1Password’s export tools to create a CSV or other compatible export of the vaults you want to move. Save the file to a private folder.
  2. Install and unlock AzAd Vault. Download from Google Play or azadvault.com/download, create or unlock your vault, and open Tools → Import passwords (Windows import hub recommended for large moves).
  3. Run the import. Choose the matching format for your export, select the file, and import into the unlocked vault.
  4. Verify and rotate high-risk items. Spot-check banking, email, and work SSO-related logins. Rotate passwords that were weak or reused using the in-vault generator.
  5. Secure cleanup. Delete the export file, write a fresh encrypted .azvault backup, optionally enable Drive sync, and only then cancel or stop relying on 1Password.

Tips and limits

Travel Mode, shared vaults, and Watchtower-style features will not map one-to-one. AzAd Vault has no multi-vault, no priority sync, and no Android WebAuthn as of September 2026. Free caps may require Premium for large 1Password libraries. Chrome passkeys need Premium on extension v1.1.0.
