LastPass alternative — switch to AzAd Vault

Zero-knowledge vault with LastPass CSV import and documented free limits.

Alternative overview as of September 2026. LastPass features and plans change — verify on lastpass.com.

Why people look for a LastPass alternative

LastPass has long been a default cloud password manager. Over the years, free-tier device limits, plan packaging, and public security history have pushed many personal users to evaluate zero-knowledge alternatives with clearer local encryption and documented free caps. If you want a clean start on Android, Windows, and Chrome — without rebuilding a full enterprise sharing model — AzAd Vault from AzAd Solutions is built for that path.

AzAd Vault encrypts on your device with Argon2id and AES-256-GCM before any storage or sync. Optional Google Drive sync stores only ciphertext in your personal Drive app folder. We never receive your master password or plaintext vault. That architecture is intentional: recovery is your responsibility, and so is backup hygiene.

What you get on Free vs Premium

Free includes up to 500 items, 20 labels, and 10 TOTP codes, plus Android autofill, encrypted attachments on all platforms, encrypted backup with history, scheduled backups, Drive sync, and security audit tools. Premium (purchased on Google Play) unlocks unlimited items, labels, and TOTP; Chrome passkey create and sign-in; Chrome Archive; and family Premium seats (up to 6). Entitlements sync to Windows and Chrome after Google sign-in.

Current apps: Android v1.0.36 on Google Play, Windows v1.0.43 from azadvault.com/download, and Chrome extension v1.1.0 on the Chrome Web Store. Same encrypted .azvault format across devices.

Gaps to weigh honestly

As of September 2026 we do not offer multi-vault, priority sync queues, Android WebAuthn / passkeys on mobile, a browser web vault, or iOS/macOS/Linux clients. Family plans share Premium seats — not shared vaults. Each member keeps a private zero-knowledge vault. If LastPass-style shared folders or SSO-centric business workflows are required, keep those needs explicit in your shortlist; AzAd Vault is not trying to be that product.

Platform fit matters. If your household is primarily Android phones, Windows PCs, and Chrome, our surface area matches. If you need Apple-first or Linux desktop coverage today, wait or choose another manager — we would rather say no than overpromise.

Migrating from LastPass

Export a LastPass CSV from your current account, then import on Android or Windows AzAd Vault (Tools → Import). Spot-check high-value logins, rotate passwords where risk is high, and enable TOTP for sites that support it. Keep an encrypted .azvault backup before and after the move.

Step-by-step instructions live in our import guide. After migration, run the security checklist so weak or reused credentials are cleaned up in the first week — not deferred indefinitely.
