AzAd Vault’s focused approach

Dashlane historically bundled VPN, dark-web monitoring, and other adjacent services alongside a password vault. That suite approach can be valuable if you want one invoice for several security utilities. AzAd Vault stays focused: encrypted credentials, cards, IDs, TOTP, passkeys on Premium Chrome, security audit, and optional Drive sync — without requiring a large subscription bundle to get started.

Our free tier is intentionally generous for individuals and small households testing a dedicated manager: 500 items, 20 labels, and 10 authenticator codes, plus Android autofill and encrypted attachments. Premium expands capacity and Chrome passkeys through Google Play billing that syncs to Windows and Chrome clients after Google sign-in.

Cryptography uses Argon2id for key derivation and AES-256-GCM for vault payloads. Optional Google Drive sync stores ciphertext only in your personal app folder. You can run fully offline if you prefer local backups and manual restore workflows.

When Dashlane may win

If you want an all-in-one security subscription with features beyond vault storage, Dashlane’s packaging may match better. Confirm which add-ons are included on each plan on their pricing page — we do not list competitor prices as facts here. Buyers who already standardize on Dashlane for identity monitoring should weigh switching costs carefully.

Platform breadth also matters: if you need a device AzAd Vault does not ship for (for example iOS or macOS as of September 2026), keep Dashlane or another multi-OS vendor on the shortlist until our roadmap catches up.

Known AzAd limitations

No multi-vault, no web vault, Premium only via Play, and a narrower OS list than some incumbents. Shared family Premium seats are not shared vaults. There is no VPN or dark-web monitoring bundled into AzAd Vault — those remain separate products if you need them.

For many users the trade-off is intentional: pay for (or stay free on) a vault that does encryption and sync well, rather than financing adjacent services you may not use. Compare live feature lists on dashlane.com and azadvault.com/features before deciding.

Practical checklist before you switch

Export your current vault (or confirm you can) before installing anything new. On AzAd Vault, use the Android or Windows import flows for CSV and supported JSON formats, then spot-check a handful of high-value logins. Enable TOTP where sites allow it, turn on optional Drive ciphertext sync only after you understand recovery, and keep an encrypted offline backup.

Compare total cost of ownership honestly: AzAd Vaults free 500/20/10 tier may cover you indefinitely, while Premium is Play-billed with family seats. Competitor free tiers and paid prices change open their pricing pages the day you decide. Weigh platform fit (Android, Windows, Chrome today) against features you will not use. A shorter feature list that matches your devices often beats a suite you pay for and ignore.

Finally, revisit threat model assumptions. Zero-knowledge encryption helps against server breaches; it does not stop phishing, malware keyloggers, or a forgotten master password. Pair any manager with unique credentials, MFA, and device hygiene. AzAd Vaults security audit tools help you find weak items after migration use them within the first week so cleanup is intentional, not deferred.
