A free password manager with documented limits
“Free password manager” searches often hide paid walls: device caps, desktop locked behind subscription, or TOTP reserved for Premium. AzAd Vault from AzAd Solutions publishes Free limits clearly: 500 items, 20 labels, and 10 TOTP authenticator codes. Within those caps you get zero-knowledge encryption (Argon2id + AES-256-GCM), optional Google Drive ciphertext sync, and real day-to-day features — not a trial that expires into read-only mode.
Free includes Android autofill, encrypted attachments on Android, Windows, and Chrome, encrypted backup with history, and scheduled backups. Security audit and expiry alerts help you clean weak credentials without upgrading. That combination is intentional: Premium should feel like more capacity and Chrome-specific extras, not the first time the product becomes usable.
What Premium adds (and what Free already has)
Premium unlocks unlimited items, labels, and TOTP; Chrome passkey create and sign-in; Chrome Archive; and family Premium seats (up to 6). Billing is on Google Play; Windows v1.0.43 and Chrome v1.1.0 inherit entitlement after Google sign-in. Android autofill, attachments, backup history, and scheduled backups stay on Free — you do not pay to unlock those basics.
Current builds: Android 1.0.36, Windows 1.0.43, Chrome extension 1.1.0. Install from Google Play, azadvault.com/download, and the Chrome Web Store respectively.
Honest limitations
Free is not unlimited. Hit 500 items or 10 TOTP codes and you need Premium or cleanup. We do not ship multi-vault, priority sync, or Android WebAuthn. There is no iOS/macOS/Linux client yet and no shared-item family vault — seats share Premium, vaults stay private. Browser passkeys require Premium on Chrome.
Compared with browser-built-in managers, AzAd Vault adds templates, TOTP, Windows desktop, and encrypted backup history. Compared with open-source self-hosted stacks, you trade control of the server for guided apps and Play billing. Pick based on maintenance appetite, not marketing alone.
Start free, migrate when ready
Download the apps, create a vault, and import from LastPass, Bitwarden, browser CSV, SafeInCloud, or Google Authenticator using our guides. Stay on Free as long as 500/20/10 fits. Upgrade only when unlimited capacity, Chrome passkeys, Archive, or family seats become necessary.
